It’s not unusual for a new business start up to think that branding is something that they can do for themselves. Budgets will be tight and intentions good, but there is never a more important time to get your message right than from the beginning. When Rob Watson started Orange Rabbit Cakes his vision was clear from the start, he knew that not investing was just a false economy and that to make his business succeed, his brand needed to be as good as his outstanding cakes and superior service.
We worked closely with Rob to create a brand that set him apart from his competitors and truly represented the unique offering that he has. Rob prides himself on creating exquisite cakes, with amazing flavours and jaw-dropping designs. We created a logo and identity that reflected his passion, his creativity and one that his clients could believe in and trust.
We deliberately steered away from the chintzy designs that many of his counterparts have adopted, and instead, we took inspiration from the vintage kitchens of the 1920’s and 30’s. The result was a playful identity using coppers and greys which perfectly fits with Rob’s vision.
The website follows on with this theme, expanding on the vintage look even further with a strong emphasis on quirky typography and Rob’s meticulous attention to detail.
Rob is continually complimented not only on his stunning cakes but also on his brand and website. He is extremely proud of what he has achieved and the business continues to go from strength to strength.
Rob is a classically trained chef and pastry chef who cemented his passion for cooking within the restaurants of the Michelin Star scene in mid nineties London. With a career that started in 1991, Rob has travelled the world working in a variety of establishments where many styles and cultures have influenced him, but with flavour always being at the forefront of his mind.
